And the work begins

The header for the pantry was removed up to the ceiling. Along the corner of that doorway, there is conduit that leads to the second floor. The second floor apt. has half the pantry of the first floor; that space was donated to the south bedroom's closet. And in that apt's smaller pantry is the refrigerator powered through this now-in-the-way conduit. The conduit was moved some 3 inches to be buried in the wall at an additional $150.
The pantry also has a window in it. The thought is that with the header removed more light and airflow can be obtained for the entire room. Also it can be said that the pantry has been removed and it's just a more dynamic kitchen. Let's see!
